Horting Methodology for Military Physical Training and Professional-Applied Preparation of Armed Forces Personnel
The World Horting Federation recognizes Horting as a comprehensive system of physical, psychological, and moral preparation that can be adapted for professional-applied training of military personnel. Developed as a modern combat sport and educational system, Horting combines elements of physical conditioning, martial arts culture, discipline, self-control, teamwork, and personal development.
Military service requires not only physical strength and endurance, but also psychological stability, discipline, responsibility, adaptability, and the ability to operate effectively under challenging conditions. The Horting methodology is based on the principle of developing a complete warrior-athlete: a person who possesses strong physical abilities, emotional balance, ethical awareness, and readiness for responsible service.
The methodology may be integrated into military physical education programs, training centers, academies, and professional development systems in accordance with the laws, regulations, traditions, and official requirements of each country’s armed forces.
Comprehensive Physical and Functional Preparation
Modern military personnel must maintain a high level of functional readiness for a wide range of operational tasks. Horting training contributes to the development of:
  • overall physical fitness;
  • strength and endurance;
  • speed and coordination;
  • agility and mobility;
  • balance and body control;
  • functional movement abilities;
  • ability to perform under physical and psychological pressure.
The training system emphasizes progressive development, allowing adaptation for different categories of military personnel, including young recruits, experienced service members, instructors, and specialized units.
Development of Military-Applied Physical Qualities
A fundamental component of Horting methodology is the development of physical qualities important for military readiness:
Strength Preparation
Horting develops functional strength through exercises aimed at improving:
  • muscular endurance;
  • explosive power;
  • body stability;
  • ability to perform demanding physical tasks;
  • efficient use of physical capabilities.
Strength training is focused not only on maximum performance but also on practical application, coordination, and control of the body.
Endurance and Work Capacity
Military duties often require prolonged physical activity under difficult conditions. Horting develops:
  • cardiovascular endurance;
  • resistance to fatigue;
  • ability to maintain performance over extended periods;
  • recovery capabilities after intense workloads.
Regular training contributes to improving the ability of personnel to remain effective during physically demanding missions.
Speed, Reaction, and Coordination
Horting exercises develop:
  • rapid response to changing situations;
  • movement accuracy;
  • coordination between perception and action;
  • balance during dynamic activity;
  • confidence in physical interaction.
These qualities are important components of general military readiness.
Combat Sports and Close-Contact Preparation
As a martial art and combat sport system, Horting develops important principles of close-contact preparation:
  • understanding of distance and movement;
  • body control;
  • defensive awareness;
  • coordination under pressure;
  • technical discipline;
  • controlled physical interaction.
The methodology emphasizes that martial arts preparation is not only a matter of technique, but also a system of developing discipline, confidence, responsibility, and self-control.
Military-oriented Horting training focuses on:
  • controlled partner exercises;
  • technical improvement;
  • physical adaptation;
  • decision-making under pressure;
  • maintaining composure in difficult situations.
All training activities are conducted according to established safety principles, ethical standards, and the regulations of the relevant institution.
Psychological Preparation and Stress Resistance
One of the important directions of Horting methodology is psychological preparation.
Military personnel frequently operate in environments requiring:
  • emotional stability;
  • concentration;
  • confidence;
  • discipline under stress;
  • ability to make responsible decisions.
Horting develops psychological qualities through:
  • demanding physical exercises;
  • controlled competitive environments;
  • overcoming personal limitations;
  • teamwork activities;
  • mental concentration exercises;
  • self-regulation techniques.
The athlete-warrior philosophy of Horting promotes the development of inner discipline, responsibility, and readiness to act constructively in challenging circumstances.
Discipline, Leadership, and Teamwork
Military effectiveness depends greatly on cooperation and mutual responsibility. Horting education includes principles that support:
  • respect among team members;
  • responsibility for personal actions;
  • discipline during training;
  • leadership development;
  • mutual assistance;
  • teamwork.
Through group training and sporting activities, participants develop qualities necessary for effective cooperation and professional interaction.
Moral and Ethical Education of Military Personnel
A distinctive feature of Horting is the combination of physical preparation with moral education.
The philosophy of Horting promotes:
  • honor;
  • dignity;
  • respect;
  • responsibility;
  • discipline;
  • courage;
  • self-control;
  • service-oriented thinking.
The Federation emphasizes that a physically strong person must also possess ethical principles and awareness of responsibility before society.
The true strength of a warrior is understood not only through physical ability, but through the ability to control oneself, respect others, and act responsibly.
Horting in Military Educational Institutions
The World Horting Federation supports cooperation with:
  • military academies;
  • physical training departments;
  • educational institutions;
  • sports organizations;
  • professional training centers;
  • veteran and service-member organizations.
Possible educational formats include:
  • introductory Horting programs;
  • physical preparation courses;
  • instructor certification programs;
  • seminars and workshops;
  • scientific-methodological conferences;
  • international training camps;
  • exchange programs between organizations.
Instructor and Trainer Development
A significant part of military-applied Horting development is the preparation of qualified instructors.
Horting instructors are trained to understand:
  • methodology of physical preparation;
  • principles of safe training;
  • educational approaches;
  • organization of group activities;
  • development of athletes’ physical and psychological qualities;
  • ethical responsibilities of a coach and mentor.
The instructor serves not only as a technical teacher, but also as an educator who helps develop discipline, confidence, and personal responsibility.
International Experience and Cooperation
Similar to internationally recognized martial arts such as karate, judo, taekwondo, and other combat sports, Horting develops through an international network of clubs, instructors, federations, and educational programs.
The World Horting Federation promotes:
  • international cooperation;
  • exchange of scientific and practical experience;
  • development of training methodologies;
  • organization of educational events;
  • promotion of martial arts culture;
  • strengthening of friendship and cooperation between countries.
Mission of Horting Military-Applied Preparation
The mission of Horting methodology in military physical education is to contribute to the formation of a well-prepared, disciplined, resilient, and responsible individual capable of maintaining physical readiness, psychological stability, teamwork skills, and ethical behavior.
Through a combination of physical training, martial arts traditions, educational principles, and personal development, Horting represents a comprehensive approach to preparing individuals who value discipline, responsibility, respect, and continuous self-improvement.
