Abstract. The co-authors, based on an analysis of the main legislative and regulatory legal documents and scholarly sources concerning the use of the polygraph in Ukraine, developed a model for the formation of an active life position among learners, cadets, and military personnel within the section «Physical Training», specifically the paragraph «The Polygraph: Strengthening Trust in the Security and Defense Sector Forces of Ukraine», and identified the scientific novelty of the study (the authors: Zoia Dikhtiarenko, Eduard Yeromenko, Oleh Zavistovskyi, Vasyl Polyvaniuk).
Thus, the author’s model provides for the presentation of interrelated components, including: the purpose; objectives; directions for achieving the purpose and objectives of the author’s methodology (the regulatory framework for the use of the polygraph by the Security and Defense Sector Forces of Ukraine;
understanding the interpretations of the concepts «polygraph», «polygraph examiner», and «psychophysiological examination using a polygraph»; analysis of the need for training polygraph examiners at the National University of Defense of Ukraine; formation of professional competence of a polygraph examiner; recommendations for law enforcement officers, polygraph examiners, and military personnel aimed at strengthening trust in the Security and Defense Sector Forces of Ukraine; projected prospects for achieving the purpose and objectives of the
author’s methodology – obtaining capabilities, prevention, detection; expected results: a motivational idea for polygraph examiners regarding the development of professionalism throughout their entire career growth, including the writing of
educational and methodological literature, the development of author’s training course programs for young polygraph examiners based on relevant curricula, etc.) (Picture 1). The terms «polygraph examiner» and «successful polygraph examiner» are introduced.
The following directions are identified, which, in our opinion, will contribute to strengthening trust in the Security and Defense Sector Forces of Ukraine: the current state of Ukrainian polygraph practice; international experience in the use of polygraph examinations; the polygraph: legislative and regulatory legal documents; psychological features of organizing and conducting polygraph examinations in law enforcement agencies of Ukraine; methods for detecting concealed information; the polygraph as a tool for strengthening trust in the Security and Defense Sector Forces of Ukraine; psychological and legal requirements for the use of the polygraph by Ukrainian law enforcement officers; implementation of the polygraph during the administration of batteries of tests in various types of research, etc.
Keywords: cadets, military personnel, learners, trust in the Security and Defense Sector Forces of Ukraine, model, active life position, physical training, polygraph.
