Special psychological training of a horting athlete

Special psychological training of a combat horting athlete is aimed at creating a state of psychological readiness in order to prevent the occurrence of negative pre-competition states - starting fever, starting apathy and self-complacency.

There are a number of techniques for managing and self-managing the pre-competition state of a combat horting athlete:

1. Thinking through the following technical and tactical actions (techniques) of the fight. This technique helps to increase the adequacy of performing technical techniques, solving tactical tasks (ideomotor training), eliminate overexcitement, allows you to relieve anxiety, switch attention from unpleasant experiences to constructive moments of the fight. The trainer-teacher can give the athlete tasks that are deliberately outlined schematically.

2. Mental analysis of negative emotions, states, as a result of which the groundlessness, insignificance of the experiences that worry the athlete becomes clear.

3. Transferring thoughts from the upcoming fight to events from one’s own life that have a positive connotation.

4. Changing the attitude towards the fight from passive to active. The trainer-teacher should conduct constant work on teaching combat horting athletes the ability to manage their emotional state, should explain the inadmissibility of concentrating thoughts on negative experiences regarding a possible unsuccessful performance.

5. Influence by autosuggestion. The autosuggestion formula should correspond to a specific direction and be pronounced from oneself in an affirmative form. The most favorable periods for autosuggestion are the periods before falling asleep and immediately after waking up.

6. Switching to an activity that can distract from thoughts about the next fight - watching a movie, visiting the theater, reading fiction, playing music, etc.

7. Avoiding circumstances and meetings that can upset the balance and cause unpleasant experiences.

8. Moral support of a combat horting athlete by a trainer-teacher – individual conversation, sincere conversation, parting words support the athlete, give him strength and confidence.

In case of self-soothe, the athlete should be encouraged and “stirred up” with any unexpected action. Special group and individual tasks can be used.

In case of starting apathy, an energetic shake-up of the athlete is necessary. The trainer-teacher focuses the student’s attention on the probability of victory, appeals to him to overcome himself, refers to the athlete’s abilities, talent, gives examples of his successful performances, past successes, etc.

To overcome negative states, special exercises are used in the warm-up. In case of overexcitation, preference is given to a warm-up with a lower intensity than usual, using slow, smooth movements, and flexibility exercises. If a combat horting athlete is apathetic, self-soothe, it is advisable to conduct an intensive warm-up consisting of fast, sharp movements, accelerations.

Emotional states are also regulated with the help of breathing exercises and massage: in case of overexcitement - calming breathing, in case of apathy, self-soothe - exciting.
