Unfortunately, many people think that physical education and sports are the same concepts. Although for sports functionaries from the "new" there is only sport, because physical education, in their opinion, is simply an outdated concept and a legacy of the old regime. There is nothing to be surprised about. Today, culture prevents not only athletes from living, but also politicians, businessmen, and state officials. Even the so-called cultural elite, instead of educating people and explaining to them what is what, is gradually getting involved in sports activities itself. Especially representatives of the media. No, do not think that they all started playing sports related to physical activity. Each of them is turning their field of activity into sports - education, medicine, culture, and the media.
But despite this, physical education not only was, but is, and will be. In any case, as long as common sense exists. Only physical education, like any other culture, is certainly not for everyone. Like common sense. And sports, despite their prosperity.
However, people who think that physical education and sports are the same really have something to get confused about, because both physical education and sports use the same means for their purposes - mainly physical exercises and games. That is, in both cases people can do running, martial arts and all other types of physical exercises.
Moreover, the same physical exercises will be physical education for someone, and for someone sport. Running, for example. After all, some run "from a heart attack", and others for records, that is, "for a heart attack". At the same time, a person can use some physical exercises for physical education classes (gymnastics or the same running), and some others for sports (football or tennis, for example). The fact is that football or tennis players, especially among professionals, for athletic and general physical training, to maintain health, in order to play better, are forced to do both running and gymnastics, and sometimes even therapeutic physical education.
The difference between physical education and sports options for doing any physical exercises is not in which of them to do, but in why and how. Everything can be used for good or harm. Everything is medicine and everything is poison. The same is true in the case of physical exercises and games. Especially since sport has long been not only a competitive and entertaining activity, but also preparation for it, that is, the sports educational and training process is outwardly very similar to physical education. Moreover, many athletes who are especially engaged "for themselves" only want to train, and do not participate in competitions. But the difference is already evident in the training. If in physical education classes are aimed at correcting physical deficiencies, improving lagging qualities and systems, at their improvement and general harmonious development, then in sports training, already pronounced physical qualities and skills necessary for some specific activity are developed. Moreover, this is done at the expense and to the detriment of everything else. And not only physical, but also intellectual and spiritual. Moreover, the sports training process is often even more harmful than competitive sports, because it involves not less, but even greater overload. Because sports training is carried out daily, and sometimes twice a day, it is rare for anyone to avoid chronic exhaustion of the body and injuries, only with proper planning of loads and the use of restorative means is this possible. And despite all the "scientificity" of the training process, however, it is aimed precisely at how to squeeze everything necessary out of a person. And there anything will be. On the other hand, physical education also involves activities very similar to competitive and demonstration. What is meant by this? This is the performance of control and normative tests to determine the level of physical fitness and motor skills, which in some individual cases can be much higher than achievements in some sports disciplines. Therefore, it is very difficult to notice the line between physical education and sports. However, this line is the same as everywhere - the goal and methods of achieving it.
Another reason why many people do not see the differences between physical education and sports lies in the terms themselves. The words physical education and sports, migrating from one language to another, have changed their original meaning and acquired new and additional ones. This is especially true of the word sport, because its original meaning is not at all what many people think. And what meaning everyone puts into it now - only God knows. And even then, probably not always. How about Mayakovsky? - We say - Lenin - we mean the party. We say - the party - we mean Lenin. The same with physical education and sports - they say one thing, but they think another. Or rather, on the contrary - they think one thing, say another, and do a third. Sports functionaries-businessmen, for example. They think how to earn more, they say that playing sports is good for health, but in reality they squeeze all the vitality out of athletes and exhaust their bodies to the limit. And they also profit from the spectators.
In life, the words physical education and sport very often mean both similar in orientation types of physical education classes, and completely different ones. Therefore, always try to clearly clarify the meaning of these words and prevent their arbitrary interpretation. Do not put your own meaning into them, do not tell others about it. Otherwise, you can understand everything the opposite yourself or completely confuse others. Unless, of course, you confuse people deliberately, as many "experts" do in the most shameless way, claiming that sports serve health, physical and spiritual improvement and even the prestige of the state.
True, recently they have officially begun to admit that sports, especially professional and children's, have side effects. Sports require sacrifices at all levels and have always existed at the expense of health.
Given this confusion, which is artificially maintained on the one hand, and based on the physical education ignorance of the majority of people, be careful. In the case when, for example, doctors suggest that you do sports to improve your health, do not rush to refuse, but clarify what they mean. Most likely, it is just a health group, general physical training or something like that, that is, a health-improving or physical education option for physical education, and not an entertaining and competitive, that is, sports. Conversely, if the same doctors do not recommend or even forbid you to do sports, this is not an excuse for not doing physical education at all, because physical education, especially in the form of therapeutic or health-improving gymnastics, is necessary for almost everyone. Moreover, the lower the level of a person's physical condition, the more important it is for him to do physical education.
But if your friends invite you to some kind of health Spartakiad, or your children to "family starts" on the occasion of the Day of the Athlete - refuse. Most likely, there is no smell of physical education there. These are clearly entertainment, that is, purely sports gatherings. Don't believe it?
Have you heard of the Olympic credo, according to which the main thing is not victory, but participation? It has already harmed people's health no less than drugs. Who has not suffered from such "health" events, participating only for the sake of participation. How is that possible? Physical education is a means of health and prevention, that is, practically related to the system of health measures. But do any events in the health care system take place without counting on the result? And the result should, of course, be positive. And you are simply offered participation. This is some kind of provocation. Or sports. But the organizers of sports, trying to fool the most people, have already agreed that in life they generally suggest just fighting, without thinking about the result. That is, they want us to focus on the process itself, not the results, in any matter. What idiocy.
But these guys themselves live according to the completely opposite "creed" - victory at any cost. Or, rather, victory at someone else's expense. Both in sports and in life. More precisely, for them, sport is a means of achieving personal success in life. And to ensure victory, all means are good for them - whether mass starts, whether children's sports, whether professional sports. Winners are not judged, and the goal justifies the means. There are no prohibitions for them, and moral norms too. Approximately on the same pretext, the President of the IOC Medical Commission, Prince Alexandre de Mérod, noticed that the main threat to the Olympic movement of the 20th century will be precisely the oblivion of ethics. But what, did he fall from the moon? What is ethics in sports? Unless it is sports. There have never been immoral things in sports, if they contributed to victory.
This is rarely talked about publicly, but athletes know that in case of aggression or violation of the rules, most coaches and especially team owners will not condemn them (and neither will the spectators) ... For them, it is not how you play that matters, but whether you win or not.
To confirm this, any Thomas the Unbeliever can compare the positions and incomes of coaches and athletes who work to win at all costs and those who believe in the "ideals" of sport and fair play. Such people usually lose. Both in sport and in life.
Do you understand what is happening? "Work hard, endure, sacrifice," - say the priests. "The main thing is participation," - say sports functionaries.
And do you know that for the first time the Olympic "creed" that the main thing is not victory, but participation, was also formulated by a priest, and not by any Baron Coubertin.
Coubertin, however, invented even more in his "Ode to Sport". Consciously or out of ignorance, but in sports from time immemorial people have lied so assertively, aggressively, noisily, incomprehensibly and quasi-scientifically that normal human morality could not even allow that it is possible to lie like that. This especially applies to the role of sport in the improvement and harmonious development of man and the whole society.
But where is the result, guys? People all over the world are only getting fatter and sicker. And former Olympic champions, prize-winners of World Cups, European Championships and other high-level competitions are sick and disabled. So, before you believe sports functionaries and, even more so, do what they suggest, think carefully and see if they themselves are engaged in what they are involving others in. After all, now those who promote sports do it very professionally. It is not for nothing that the main object of sports information terror is primarily children and youth, for whom sport poses the greatest danger, because it undermines vitality in the most important period of the formation of physical, intellectual and spiritual qualities, distracts from learning and disorients in the choice of moral values. Moreover, in children's sports, a kind of reverse natural selection operates. Physically healthy children, that is, carriers of a healthy genotype, suffer the most from sports. The sick and weak, as hopeless, are quickly eliminated and are less susceptible to prolonged physical and psycho-emotional overload. And the healthy remain in sports until the end, that is, until everything that is needed is sucked out of them.
So far, no one has seriously studied the delayed consequences of prolonged physical and psycho-emotional overloads that children and youth are exposed to in sports. Moreover, no one has studied the impact of these loads on offspring or reproductive functions.
For decades, we have been fed lies about sports health and youth for many years. But where is this health and where is this youth, if in recent times both the average life expectancy and the birth rate have sharply decreased, and mortality, on the contrary, has increased. Morbidity is also increasing catastrophically, especially cardiovascular diseases. Isn't this the result of playing sports in childhood and the sports booms of past years? Yes, today we have identified many factors that deplete a person's vitality: extreme climatic conditions, cosmic radiation, polluted environment, poor nutrition, physical inactivity, bad habits, dangerous working conditions, etc. But all these factors are recognized as harmful, but sport is presented as a health and general strengthening activity. Although in practice it is no less harmful for most people than the same physical inactivity or bad habits. The harmfulness of playing sports is manifested not only in the form of injuries and diseases that occur directly during competitions and training. Constant physical overload, especially during the period of development of the body, that is, in childhood and adolescence, leads to depletion of vital forces and does not manifest itself immediately. The delayed consequences of physical and psycho-emotional overloads haunt a person throughout his life. And not only on the physical, but also on the spiritual level. In this regard, the position of the Ministry of Health, which could warn that playing sports, like smoking, is dangerous to health, is not entirely clear. Think about it.
Remember that in addition to sports, there is also physical culture, which contributes to the improvement of lagging qualities and systems, their perfection, correction of physical deficiencies and overall harmonious development.
