In order for a strong body to have a strong mind, it is necessary, first of all, to have a healthy nervous system. A person has a central and peripheral nervous system. The central nervous system provides all control of a person's conscious activity, the peripheral nervous system connects the central nervous system with the entire organism and brings its "commands" to each cell. To organize consciousness, it is necessary, first of all, to maintain the central nervous system in order. And first of all, the brain.
The activity of the brain depends entirely and completely on its blood supply. If the blood supply to the brain stops for at least two minutes, this leads to irreversible damage. Prevention of cerebral circulation disorders is of vital importance!
The brain consists of many nerve cells - neurons, to which arteries and capillaries are supplied for their nutrition. Moreover, it is the blood vessels that are the axes around which neurons are located. This means that the core and basis of the brain's work is the circulatory system. Neurons need to constantly receive food from the vessels - oxygen and nutrients that come with the blood. The work of neurons requires a constant and uninterrupted delivery of oxygen with the blood. It is enough to stop the delivery of oxygen for a few minutes - and the neurons die. Therefore, the obstacles that have arisen in the brain can become irreparable and lead to a fatal outcome. Fortunately, our body is capable of self-regulation: if some blood vessels are blocked for some reason, then there are bypasses for the flow of blood to the brain. If some arteries are compressed and do not let blood through, then others can expand and let blood through. But the possibilities of such self-regulation are also not unlimited. If we do not follow the laws of nature, if we do not consciously strive to improve our health, then the body will have more and more difficulty in coping with its troubles on its own, without our conscious help and support.
Exercises to improve cerebral circulation
A sedentary lifestyle, lack of physical exercise and prolonged sitting lead to a deterioration in cerebral circulation, especially if the head remains in the same unchanging position for a long time. It is even worse if the head constantly remains motionless, while being slightly tilted to one side.
Exercises with tilts and turns of the head increase the elasticity of the blood vessels that feed the brain, causing them to expand. All this, together with rhythmic breathing through the nose, increases the flow of oxygen to the brain cells, improves mental performance. It is better to perform such exercises standing, repeating each 4-5 times.
Exercise 1
Starting position: arms along the body. Then raise your arms to your shoulders, clenching your fists and tilting your head forward. Then raise your elbows up and tilt your head forward. Return to the starting position. Do not do it quickly or slowly - at an average pace.
Exercise 2
Starting position: arms to the sides. Then the arms are bent at the elbows and jerks are made with the arms bent at the elbows, with the right hand - forward, with the left - back, behind the back. Return to the starting position. Do the same several times, changing hands: right - back, left - forward. Not fast and not slow - at a medium pace.
Exercise 3
Starting position: arms along the body, head straight. Tilt the head to the right shoulder, return to the starting position. Tilt the head to the left shoulder, return to the starting position. Keeping the head straight, without tilting the neck, and looking in front of you, turn it to the right, return to the starting position. Then, in the same way, keeping the head straight, without tilting the neck, and looking in front of you, turn it to the left, then return to the starting position. Do it at a slow pace.
