2026 WORLD HORTING CHAMPIONSHIPS
The World Horting Federation is proud to announce the 2026 World Horting Championships, which will take place in Milan, Italy, from April 16 to April 22, 2026.
The international expansion of Horting continued with the 2026 World Horting Championships, held in Milan, Italy, from April 16 to April 22, 2026. The championships were organized within a large international martial arts festival under the auspices of the World Boxing Fighters Corporation (WBFC). According to published reports, the event attracted more than 825 participants from numerous countries and featured competitions in multiple martial arts disciplines. Ukrainian athletes achieved remarkable success, winning a total of 110 medals and demonstrating a high level of preparation, technical mastery, and competitive spirit.
Throughout the history of the World Horting Championships, host countries have provided athletes with opportunities not only to compete for world titles but also to exchange experiences, learn about different cultures, and promote the educational and health-oriented values of sport. These championships emphasize fair play, respect for opponents, self-discipline, perseverance, leadership, and personal development.
The World Horting Championships also serve as an important mechanism for the professional development of coaches and referees. International seminars, certification programs, judges' meetings, and educational workshops are frequently organized alongside championship events, contributing to the continuous improvement of competition standards and sports governance.
In addition to elite-level competition, World Horting Championships promote youth participation in sport and encourage healthy lifestyles among children and young people. Many athletes who first competed at youth and junior levels have gone on to become national champions, international medalists, coaches, referees, and leaders within the global Horting community.
As Horting continues its international development, future World Championships are expected to be hosted in additional countries across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and other regions. Each new championship strengthens the position of Horting as an internationally recognized martial art and sport while preserving its Ukrainian heritage and educational mission.
Today, the World Horting Championships stand as a symbol of unity, friendship, athletic achievement, and the continued growth of the international Horting movement. Through these prestigious events, athletes from around the world come together to celebrate sport, cultural understanding, and the pursuit of excellence.
This prestigious international event will bring together athletes, coaches, officials, and representatives of national Horting federations from around the world to compete at the highest level of Horting sport. The championships will serve as a global platform for demonstrating athletic excellence, sportsmanship, discipline, and the core values of Horting.
Participants will compete in various age groups, weight categories, and competitive divisions, showcasing their technical skills, physical preparedness, and dedication to the development of Horting. The event will also promote international friendship, cultural exchange, and cooperation among nations through sport.

World Horting Championships: A Global Platform for Excellence, Tradition, and International Cooperation

The World Horting Championships represent the highest level of international competition in Horting and serve as the flagship event of the global Horting movement. Since the establishment of Horting as a modern Ukrainian martial art and sport, World Championships have played a vital role in promoting athletic excellence, cultural exchange, youth development, and international friendship among athletes and sports organizations from different countries.
Horting originated in Ukraine as a comprehensive system of physical, moral, and patriotic education based on national traditions, modern sports science, and combat sports methodology. Over the years, the sport has expanded beyond its country of origin and gained recognition in Europe, Asia, North America, and other regions of the world. The organization of World Horting Championships in different countries has significantly contributed to the internationalization of the sport and the strengthening of cooperation among national federations.
Each World Horting Championship brings together athletes, coaches, referees, sports officials, and supporters from numerous countries. Competitions are conducted in various age groups and divisions, providing opportunities for children, youth, adults, and veteran athletes to demonstrate their technical skills, physical preparedness, discipline, courage, and commitment to the values of Horting.
A major milestone in the development of international Horting was the 5th World Horting Championship, held in Milan, Italy, on November 11–12, 2023. The championship welcomed participants from multiple countries and demonstrated the growing popularity of Horting throughout Europe. The event provided an important platform for international competition and further strengthened cooperation between national Horting organizations.
The World Horting Championships represent one of the most significant events in the international Horting calendar and provide athletes with an opportunity to earn world titles and gain valuable international experience. The World Horting Federation welcomes national teams, sports organizations, athletes, coaches, referees, and supporters to Milan for a week of outstanding competition and celebration of the global Horting movement.

Abstract. Combat horting is a universal sport and element in all cultures. It is especially popular with young people; statistics show that 61 % of young people aged 15-24 years regularly (at least once a week) take part in sport events. Abstracts
Purpose. To study the peculiarities of influence of power training loads including machine and free weights exercises on the development of maximum muscle strength of athletes in horting and on their level of training in strike fighting. Methods. We examined 40 sportsmen aged 20±1,2 engaged in horting. The study took place at the stage of specialized basic training and lasted 3 months. All participants were divided into 2 groups, 20 athletes in each group.
Group 1 used machine exercises and group 2 used free weights exercises (barbells, dumbbells). The effectiveness of the
proposed exercises in the specified modes of muscle activity was evaluated by the indicators of maximum strength development and level of training in strike fighting in horting. Biochemical analysis of cortisol concentration was used to assess their adaptive and compensatory reactions to a physical stimulus. Results. The research results showed that using machine exercises in conditions of anaerobic-glycolytic mode of energy supply contributed to the growth of average group indicators of maximum strength development by 44,8 % (р<0,05) in group 1 athletes. The same
indicators increased by 45,1 % (p <0,05) in group 2 athletes who used free weights exercises on the background of anaerobic-alactate mode of energy supply. The special strike training results in horting showed that the most pronounced increase in the number of kicks with maximum force for 15 s was by 30,4 % (р<0,05) in group 2 athletes (according to the results of 3 control exercises). Group 1 athletes also showed positive dynamics, but with almost 4,5 times lower progression. At the beginning of the study group 2 athletes demonstrated decrease in cortisol concentration by 18,8 % (р<0,05), and group 1 athletes increased this indicator by 10.3% compared to the state of rest. The results revealed at the end of the study indicated that this hormone did not change its parameters in response to a physical stimulus. Conclusion. Using free weights exercises contributed to positive changes in control indicators of strike training in horting, despite almost identical increase in maximum strength parameters in both group athletes. Despite the compensatory reaction manifestations in response to power loads in the conditions of anaerobic-alactate mode of energy supply at the beginning of the study, we observed the process of long-term adaptation at the end of the study.
Key words: horting, athletes, machine exercises, free weights exercises, level of training in strike fighting, cortisol.
Conclusion of this research in the field of horting development:
1. Using free weights exercises in conditions of anaerobic-alactate regime of energy supply contributes to a more pronounced increase in the control indicators of strike training in horting, than during the long-term use of machine exercises. It should be noted that similar changes occur despite an almost identical
increase in maximum strength parameters, regardless of the structure of exercise complexes, load parameters, and modes of energy supply of training activities.
2. Using a biochemical indicator of the cortisol concentration in the blood serum of athletes in the process of training as an informative marker for assessing the adaptive and compensatory reactions of the athletes to a physical stimulus, allows clearly determining the adequacy of loads to the body’s functional
capabilities. This biochemical marker of blood lets us clearly determine the accelerated reduction of energy resources in conditions of power loads of the anaerobic-alactate mode of energy supply and contributes to the prompt correction of the training process to increase the effectiveness of attacking and counter-attacking kicks in horting.
