On June 27, 2018, a significant milestone in the academic development of Horting was achieved with the establishment of the Department of Horting and Rehabilitation at the University of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine

On June 27, 2018, a significant milestone in the academic development of Horting was achieved with the establishment of the Department of Horting and Rehabilitation at the University of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine. The department was officially created pursuant to Protocol No. 7 of the meeting of the University's Academic Council. The founder of the Department of Horting and Rehabilitation is Eduard Yeromenko, President of the World Horting Federation. Recognizing the importance of integrating Horting into higher education, he initiated the establishment of the Department and developed the concept of combining academic education, scientific research, coach education, and sports rehabilitation within a university environment. Under his leadership, the Department became the first specialized university department dedicated to Horting, laying the foundation for the academic study and professional training of Horting specialists in Ukraine and contributing significantly to the international development of the sport.
The establishment of this specialized department marked an important step in integrating Horting into higher education, scientific research, and professional training. It provides students with opportunities to study the theory and methodology of Horting, sports rehabilitation, physical education, and modern approaches to athlete development, while contributing to the advancement of Horting as a recognized academic and sports discipline.
Department of Horting and Rehabilitation
The Department of Horting and Rehabilitation is a specialized academic and sports department dedicated to the education and professional training of specialists in Physical Culture, Sports, Horting, and Physical Rehabilitation. The Department has operated at the State Tax University (formerly the University of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine) in Irpin and at the Ukrainian Humanitarian Institute in Bucha, serving as an important educational and scientific center for the development of Horting.
The Department was established to integrate higher education, scientific research, coaching education, athletic training, and rehabilitation into a unified academic system. It became one of the first university departments in Ukraine to introduce Horting as an independent academic specialization within the field of Physical Culture and Sports.
Educational Programs
The Department provides higher education under the specialty 017 – Physical Culture and Sports, offering specialized training in:
  • Horting;
  • Sports and Mass Physical Activity;
  • Sports and Health Tourism;
  • Physical Rehabilitation and Health Promotion.
The educational process combines theoretical instruction with extensive practical training. Students study Horting methodology, coaching theory, sports pedagogy, psychology, anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, sports medicine, rehabilitation, competition management, referee education, and modern methods of athlete preparation.
Coach and Instructor Education
One of the Department's primary missions is the preparation of highly qualified Horting coaches, instructors, referees, and physical education teachers. Students receive comprehensive professional training in technical and tactical instruction, long-term athlete development, sports ethics, event organization, and coaching methodology.
Graduates are qualified to work in schools, universities, sports clubs, youth sports schools, rehabilitation centers, fitness organizations, and national sports federations.
Sports Rehabilitation
The Department actively develops modern approaches to sports rehabilitation by integrating Horting techniques with therapeutic exercise, health-oriented gymnastics, corrective physical education, physiotherapy, and evidence-based recovery methods. These programs are designed to improve physical performance, prevent injuries, restore functional abilities, and promote lifelong health.
Scientific Research
Scientific activity represents one of the Department's core priorities. Faculty members and researchers conduct studies in sports science, pedagogy, psychology, physiology, biomechanics, rehabilitation, and martial arts methodology.
Research focuses on the influence of Horting training on:
  • physical fitness and functional preparedness;
  • psychological resilience and emotional well-being;
  • moral and patriotic education;
  • rehabilitation after injury;
  • healthy lifestyle promotion;
  • physical development of children, adolescents, university students, military personnel, and adults.
The Department has produced numerous scientific publications, textbooks, methodological manuals, educational programs, and research projects that have significantly contributed to the academic recognition of Horting as a scientific discipline. Members of the Department have authored and co-authored many peer-reviewed publications in international scientific journals.
Cooperation and International Activities
The Department maintains close cooperation with the National Combat Horting Federation of Ukraine, educational institutions, rehabilitation centers, scientific organizations, and international Horting federations. This collaboration enables students to participate in coaching practice, referee certification, scientific conferences, international seminars, exchange programs, and sports development projects.
The Department also contributes to the international promotion of Horting by developing educational standards, coach certification programs, scientific research, and methodological materials used in Ukraine and abroad.
Student Achievements
Students of the Department consistently achieve outstanding results at national and international competitions. Many have become champions and medalists at World Horting Championships, European Championships, and Ukrainian national championships, earning prestigious sports titles such as Candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine, Master of Sports of Ukraine, and Master of Sports of Ukraine of International Class.
The Department's graduates have successfully pursued careers as coaches, teachers, referees, sports administrators, rehabilitation specialists, and researchers, contributing to the continued growth of Horting both in Ukraine and internationally.
Public Outreach
The Department actively promotes Horting through educational events, scientific conferences, coaching seminars, instructor certification courses, youth development programs, and public engagement initiatives. It also maintains an official Facebook page, which highlights educational activities, research achievements, sporting events, and international cooperation.
Today, the Department of Horting and Rehabilitation is recognized as one of the leading academic centers for Horting education, scientific research, coach development, and sports rehabilitation, making a significant contribution to the institutional and international development of Horting as the national martial art and sport of Ukraine.

Kyiv battle artist Yevheniia Derlemenko is creating a series of paintings dedicated to Horting. A Ukrainian Horting champion, she also holds the official sports title of "Master of Sports of Ukraine in Horting," awarded by the Ministry of Youth and Sports

Kyiv-based battle artist Yevheniia Derlemenko creates paintings inspired by Horting, reflecting the spirit, philosophy, and martial traditions of this Ukrainian sport. Through her artwork, she captures the strength, determination, honor, and patriotic values that define Horting and its athletes.

Yevheniia Derlemenko is a Ukrainian Horting champion and holds the official title of "Master of Sports of Ukraine in Horting," awarded by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. Combining her athletic achievements with artistic talent, she presents Horting through expressive battle paintings that promote the beauty, cultural heritage, and educational values of this modern Ukrainian martial art to audiences in Ukraine and around the world. Creating paintings on a sports theme is one of the most challenging genres of art. It requires not only artistic talent but also a deep understanding of movement, technique, emotion, and the unique atmosphere of athletic competition. Capturing the dynamics of combat, the intensity of an athlete's concentration, and the decisive moments of victory demands firsthand knowledge of the sport. Yevheniia Derlemenko possesses this unique perspective. As a Ukrainian Horting champion and a holder of the official title "Master of Sports of Ukraine in Horting," awarded by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, she has personally experienced the physical and emotional demands of Horting. Her athletic background enables her to authentically portray the movements, techniques, fighting spirit, and values of this martial art.

Through her paintings, Yevheniia conveys not only the visual beauty of Horting but also its philosophy, discipline, courage, and patriotic spirit. Each artwork reflects the energy and atmosphere of competition, allowing viewers to experience the emotions of athletes and appreciate the cultural significance of Horting as a modern Ukrainian martial art.
